Best Practices
Promoting the Program → Train budtenders to mention the program at checkout, add signage at the register and in the waiting area, include program information in receipts and emails, offer a signup bonus (e.g., "Join today and get 100 bonus points"), make enrollment easy (auto-enroll with ID scan).
Engaging Members → Send personalized offers based on purchase history, notify members of tier upgrades, celebrate birthdays with bonus points or discounts, offer exclusive access to new products or strains, create referral incentives.
Avoiding Abuse → Set reasonable earning and redemption limits, monitor for unusual points activity, require manager approval for large adjustments, enforce expiration rules, audit points transactions regularly.
Compliance → Loyalty program must comply with state regulations. Some states limit loyalty discounts or free products. Ensure program doesn't encourage over-purchase (respect purchase limits). Points cannot be redeemed for cash (in most states). Follow advertising restrictions for promotional materials.
